Q + A

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Space will be tight, so we ask that you not bring any guests other than those specifically listed on your invitation. Thanks for understanding.

Are kids invited?

We love your kids, but please don't bring them with you! Thanks for understanding.

How do I RSVP?

There will be an RSVP link at this website, which will go live once our formal invitations are sent out. Please stay tuned!

When are RSVPs due?

We ask that you RSVP no later than June 22.

Where should we stay?

We have reserved hotel blocks at three hotels -- two on Kent Island itself, and one nearby in Annapolis. Those hotels and their contact information are listed on the "Travel" page of this website.

When should we arrive?

If you are involved in the wedding ceremony itself, there will be a rehearsal at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 2, at the venue (Kent Island Resort), followed by a rehearsal dinner. Logistical information will be provided to you directly if this applies to you! All other guests are welcome to join us on Friday evening at Kent Island Resort for welcome cocktails and appetizers from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. On Saturday, please try to arrive on site by 4:30 as the ceremony will begin promptly at 5 pm.

What is "coastal elegant" dress?

For the ceremony and reception on Saturday, the dress code is "Coastal Elegant." Since that's a term we completely made up, some explanation is obviously in order. Maryland in August can be HOT, so please dress for warm weather while keeping it classy. For men, blazers or lightweight suits are recommended, but no ties are necessary unless you want to wear one. Light/pastel colors, fun summery patterns, and/or nautical touches are all encouraged but not required. As for shoes, no walking on grass or sand will be necessary. Here is a Pinterest gallery with some "coastal elegant" photo inspo (note that you will have to copy this link and paste it into your browser): http://www.pinterest.com/jknobler/coastal-elegant/

What will the weather be like?

We're keeping our fingers crossed for sunny and pleasant -- but be prepared for hot weather! Average temperatures for Stevensville, MD in August are 84° (high) / 70° (low), with 9 days of rain per month.

Are the wedding events indoors or outdoors?

The welcome reception on Friday evening may be held outdoors, weather permitting. The ceremony on Saturday will be held in a semi-climate-controlled tent. The post-ceremony cocktail hour will be indoors with overflow outdoors. The reception and Sunday brunch are both indoors.

Will there be transportation from the hotel to the wedding and back?

For the main event on Saturday, if you are staying at one of the three recommended hotels, then yes! We will be providing busing from those hotels to the ceremony and from the reception back to those hotels at the end of the night. You are also welcome to drive (safely) -- there is ample parking at the venue. We will not be providing transportation to/from the venue on Friday evening or Sunday morning, so if you are attending those events, you'll have to drive or Uber. Please visit the Travel tab on the website for the transportation information.

Is there parking at Kent Island Resort (the wedding venue)?

Yes! There will be plenty of free parking at the Resort's parking lot.

Where is your registry?

In lieu of wedding gifts, we encourage donations to one or more of the charities listed on the "Wedding Donations" page on this website.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

When you RSVP, you will be able to choose between a regular meal and a vegan meal. The regular meal contains red meat (steak) and shellfish (crabcake); if you can't eat one or the other, there is a text box to let us know. You can also let us know any other restrictions (gluten, allergies, etc.) in the text box and we should be able to accommodate.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes.
